Who are we

Community Counseling Services

Community Counseling Services (CCS) is the service center and public name for Integral Community Services Institute (ICSI), a 501(c)3 non-profit mental health agency. ICSI was founded in 2011 by a group of community mental health experts, providers, and advocates.

Over the years, ICSI has contracted with several local agencies and schools to provide mental health services to individuals and families in need. ICSI believes in promoting community health through advocacy and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit.

Our mental health consumer base includes children, youths, and their families exposed to trauma; women and families of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

At ICSI, our mission is to provide accessible, culturally-responsive, and trauma-informed mental health services to underserved and marginalized communities. We are committed to healing the mind, body, and spirit through compassionate care, community partnerships, and inclusive practices that reflect the diverse needs of those we serve.
ICSI envisions a world where all individuals, regardless of background, have equitable access to quality mental health care. We strive to create inclusive, healing-centered spaces that empower individuals, strengthen families, and build resilient communities.

Core Values

Cultural Congruence

We recognize that effective care must reflect the identities, values, and lived experiences of our clients. Our services are rooted in cultural understanding and are tailored to meet the specific needs of diverse communities, especially those historically excluded from care.

Community-Centered Practice

We place the community at the heart of our work—bridging clinical services with local resources, education, and outreach. By aligning with schools, agencies, and grassroots organizations, we extend healing beyond the therapy room.

Restorative Healing

Our approach addresses generational trauma, systemic harm, and life disruptions through holistic, trauma-informed care. We prioritize healing that restores dignity, safety, and strength across the individual, family, and community.

Inclusive Access

We are committed to eliminating barriers to care. Through sliding scale fees, flexible hours, multilingual support, and client-centered intake processes, we ensure mental health services are truly accessible to those who need them most.

Workforce Development & Mentorship

As a training agency, we intentionally invest in shaping the future of mental health care by mentoring emerging clinicians, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. We believe in growing a workforce that reflects and serves its community.

Responsiveness & Accountability

We respond to evolving community needs with adaptability and transparency. We actively seek feedback, evaluate our services, and hold ourselves accountable to the people we serve.

Intersectional Justice

We understand mental health within the context of racial, gender, social, and economic justice. We affirm LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and all marginalized populations by advocating for equity both inside and outside of the therapeutic space.
